It's a sad day for Mdm Foo. Her husband just departed and left her family. Today a few of our office members went to the funeral. Left at about 10.30am and came back after lunch.
Mdm Foo is a well loved person and she is a very respectable person among our people. She is very hardworking and always caring. She is the Lynn godma I once told u about. she alwaes work till 7pm at nite and she also does not gossip around about other people. So when we heard of her husband's departure, we all share in the grieve with her. Mdm Foo husband pass away last thursday and just now we went to witness the crimination of the body.. haiz
The Funeral
Everything was alright at a void deck of Bukit Panjang. It was a Christian funeral. A pastor came to pray for the family and to conduct the service at the Mandai Crimination Centre. It was a very simple wake and funeral. Friends and relatives just came to pay their last respect with prayers and rememberance. Than there was alot of army personnel also. master warrants, senior warrants. major etc.. people whom Mdm Foo had work with in her career. Than Mr Goh who had work with Mdm Foo since the 1970s had tears in his eyes. Haiz..
The disaster
The time came and the coffin was covered and moved into the 'coffin van'. So we headed down to mandai for the crimination of the body. (I sit in big boss car sia.. than he talk alot) When we reach up to Hall One for the ceremony, at the gate we notice a problem. The van's door that carry the coffin cannot open. Huh..? We were all quite puzzled. Thought it was quite ok when we left Bukit Panjang. Wo Sim commented about coincidental things that happen in funerals. Somehow, there are always unusual things that happen in funerals or wakes.. Hmm what do ya think?? Ya I heard of some incidence too..
"Got key how come cannot open..?" "It was ok just now ma.." This are the few comments I heard just now.
(haha but dun be superstitious horr..accidents happen anytime one)
Major Goh got another comment. "4337!~! Later remember to buy!"
The coffin barriers tried many ways to unlock the door. Gentle arr..Hard arr.. Than 2 guys even go into the van, from the inside try to unlock it. But also cannot. Than in my mind I was thinking, "Could the dead body just pop out from the coffin and consume the 2 men right in front of our eyes? Than they will be struggling and blood splurting on the window. And the zombie just bite and slash and dug his teeth into them.." *poof* back to earth. (just a bad thought..opps!) Guess I watch too much movies le~ Hee.. Anywaes, they tried for quite awhile till finally they decided to break the glass window. So from inside, a guy uses a hammer to whack the glass and kick it open. Fancy such a thing happen at such a time like this. Thankfully Mdm Foo was quite strong emotionally and she did not break down or anything. Maybe her husband time is up and she knows she will be meeting him again. So they raise up the coffin through the window and unto the coffin trolley. And the pastor signal us to go into the Hall to start the service. Inside, we gave a one minute silence and stuff. Than we place some flowers on the coffin before we proceed to the viewing room to watch the coffin being moved into the burning furnace to be criminated. =((
The Funeral
Inside the viewing room, It was all quiet. A sad tune was played but was interrupted by some handphones ringing. There I took a glimspe at Mdm Foo. She was looking out of the glass anticipating for one last look at the coffin. She did not wailed neither did her daughter. As the sad music was played, I could imagine her thinking of all the happy times she and her husband spent for almost half of their lives. From courtship till marriage and living together. All had to go when last thursday her husband had a fall. He fell into a coma and never woke up again. But the husband was generous enough to donate all his organs to the hospital if it can be use to help other patients to survive. Haiz..
I remembered about a few months back, Mdm Foo was complaining to us about her husband being a silly guy. Her husband brought some insurance which he was convince it was a good deal. He bought liaoz told Mdm Foo about it. Say what 99 years plan.. 99 years later than can take the money or something.. Mdm Foo hear liaoz scolded her husband. "You how old already? Still can live 99 years meh?" The husband is like, "Oh ya horr.."
Haiz.. Life is unpredictable. The decisions we make determines our future and our paths.. Not by our circumstances. Dun keep on working or being busy and forget about our love ones. You neber know how long they will be around.

Humility in the bible~
In chapter 5 in the book of 1st Peter, Apostle Paul talks about the attitude a servant in God shall have. Which generally speaks about a person with humility. Which also coincide with the revelation C.S.Lewis had. Here is verse 5 to 11 for your reading pleasure.. haha
1Peter 5:5-11(NIV version)
5. Young men in the same way be submissive to those who are older. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because,
"God opposes the proud
but give grace to the humble."
6. Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time.
7. Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.
8. Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
9. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.
10. And the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will Himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.
11. To Him be the power for ever and ever. Amen.

Mattlex just move into the new army office in espo.. my new position now quite good. (hopefully can stay that position for my remaining time there) Behind mi is the wall than by my side got cabinet. Than my 3 immediate superior sits about 6 metre in front of me. Generally, nobody can see my computer screen..! wahahaha shiok shiok.. Not that i can watch my movies and play my games.. opps! haha but how would i like to have the superiors easy access to peek at my computer screen to see wat i am doing.. Nehh.... esp wo harold, cpt tan these type.. I prefer to work on faith.. you trust mi, i perform well give you happily. You dun believe in mi.. i will be quite sianz..

Mere Christianity by C.S.Lewis
Happen to browse through a book called '365 days with C.S.Lewis.' This book is a compilation of some of the greater philosophies he had in his life. Among other passages that caught my eye, one revelation that caught my attention is this one where the first line goes something like
"The more a person learns about God's righteousness, The worst-off the person knows about himself."
Does it ring a bell? Or are you as puzzled as I am.. (or if this sounds like crap to you, you can position your mouse to the top right hand corner of your computer screen and click that Big Red X there..ya! Or mayb you can screw me in my tagboard with an anonymous name if you're a coward or leave your tel. if your bold, beautiful and under 21.) =)) Haha Juz kidding tido~ And the book further explains..
How to explain.. hmm.. The deeper a person gets to know God and His righteousness, he will be revealed more about himself. Strength and weaknesses alike. And he will know much more of what he has not acquire and much of his short-comings. And so much more a person needs God in his life; be it personality, emotionally, spiritually, capability. A wicked person may think he is still alright in his wicked ways. But a righteous person knows how far short the wicked man is. It's like you wouldn't know your mistake when you are making one.. but you can see the mistake you had made when you learn about it later. Or when another person commits it, you know it's the wrong way. So the more a person learns about God's righteousness (or is in righteousness), the more the person knows he is not quite there.
One night when I learnt about this, I cried out. I began to realize more of my short comings and weaknesses. "Who am I?? Im just nothing.. I've got so much more of this and that.." That's why God told us to be humble. Whatever cares we have, submit to Him. He who is faithful will carry out His works even till the last days of our lives. Sometimes when a person learn about himself, he tries to hide it with pride. A person may become close-up. Becoming judgmental of others to cover own weaknesses. Others may condemn themselves thinking they are not good enough and ultimately fall away from God. But God says be humble. He who knows us more than ourselves knows us from the beginning but yet does not condemn us. But accept us and cover us with grace. "But I'm okay.. I'm somewhere there already." If this is your reply, If you think you are like Jesus already, than I caution you gotta be careful. But let us not sidetrack on ourselves but be bold and humble alright??
This chapter of the book is call 'Humility'. Originally from a book call 'Mere Christianity' by C.S.Lewis. I find it quite interesting.. Think I wanna get the book though.. hee~ Don't you think so?? =))
