THANKS YINGJIE for the wonderful cup noodles from Taiwan!
Had it for my late meal juz now and its juz heavenly! Its this herbal pork flavour and its super nice. Cant possibly find it in spore. No wonder frenz told mi about taiwan delicious cup noodles.
Its super filling! it come in this big styro bowl and has all these seasonings inside. There is this common MSG powder and there is the oil. Than it has this clear liquid. dunno wat its for but i juz dump it in. Best yet, it has real pork stew inside. pork with the gravy. Nice! Mix them all together and Woalla!
The taste is superb. Tasted like noodles in thick herbal soup. It even has the herbal bitter taste and those lil red dates thingy. I had neber eaten such a nice noodle b4. Its so good, i can sell it for $3 at my market here.
OKOK wanted to continue on the GST thingy but i shall not comment more. Hmm.. mayb juz one more. Remember when the government increase the GST from 3% to 5%, our then PM Goh gave us ERS (an average of $1200 to $1600 over 3 years / $400-$600 per year) reason is to share our economic profits and to ease our GST burdens. This time round if i calculate correctly, i should receive amount that justify from 3% to 7%. (Mayb a 3% to 5% ERS, plus 5% to 7% ERRSS.) Yea?? But worst still, this year dun have ERS payout! No year end progress package! Gahmen neber breath a word. all juz tiam tiam. Should send somemore Worker Party members inside gahmen to tickle them.
Ok one more short one.. When the gahmen first impliment GST, gahemn give sporeans tax rebate. Means gahmen give back cash amount on every income tax paid. But realise this.. only wealthy sporeans pay taxes. Middle and lower class wont enjoy that tax rebate. Only ERS.
2% increase means nothing when we buy groceries or starbucks coffee. Mayb a dollar more when we order pizza hut. 2% increase means an extra $40 for a $2000 laptop, $1000 more for an average car, a few thousands depending on the houses bought. If i buy a $100k house, i pay $7k for GST in the year 2007. 10 years down the road, 17% GST?? By then, $400 ERS means nothing le. Means peanuts**.
Better migrate to taiwan, there i can eat cup noodles all day and save up. Also got Chen Shui Bian and Wu Zhong Xian on TV.
How can the gahmen help the poor by increasing its GST ?? (as reasoned for the GST hike)
To help the poor, wouldn't it make more sense to reduce GST from 5% to 3% ??
Understand that GST affects the lower & the middle class people in Spore the most. Lower classes pays GST just like everyone else. Middle classes have financial obstacles as well.
GST stands for Goods & Services Tax. Its not mend for charity. I dont want to pay Goods & Services Tax for helping the poor. If the gahmen need a tax to help the poor, impliment a 2% "Robin Hood" Tax/ "Rob the Rich, Help the Poor" Tax or something. Dont lump it together with GST. Since when did our Gahmen became noble?
If they realli wana help help help the poor, rich to support the poor, boast local economy from foreigners, than they should catergories the 7% GST increase to certain developments only. Eg. Intergrated Resorts, 5 Star hotels, luxury items, posh eatery (for better goods and services ma). A decrease in GST or maintain the same in wholesale food. hospitals, medicine & common basic neccesities.
As much as there's a need to improve Singapore financial economy, but don't stretch a common sporean like this. What's next 4 years from nw? after the next election.. If there is an increase in GST, there should be more transparency as to justify how our extra tax is going to "help the poor". If there is no transparency, i see a similarity between this and the NKF saga. The only difference is that there is no celebrity star challenges on TV.
Last nite i woke up halfway thru my sleep. Than i lie on my bed and my mind kept thinking of this GST increase. Pekchek! Think till i cannot sleep for the next 1 hour.

As its my Bdae!
You know i feel more like an adult now. I felt like im turning into an adult only now when im 25. Like wasnt realli there yet before. Well..
Well this year is more significant as everything somehow lies into place. (1) My bdae falls exactly on Sunday. (2) Its the 2006 Aries & Build pledging weekend and (3) supposedly my Vows ends on this day. but last year i was struggling if i should take up a year vow. Than i finally settles for one on the 23rd or 27th this mth.
So i started out my 25th year holding up my pledges and my offering (emptied my wallet to a total of $6) that afternoon. And had a pretty nice seafood dinner with a few long time friends. (Appreciates u personally for the goodness you have showered into my life.) And when i came back home, my mum told mi my dad when to sleep 5mins ago. He was about to give mi the cash that he promised to sponsor for my driving course but i have to wait till 2ml morning. An amount of $600.
So i'd spent the 1st few hours of my adulthood being a blesser. Ironically its coincide with my personal belief..about maturity. That maturity is about providing, li rang jing shen, giving, sparing thoughts for others..more than self centeredness with Jesus as the ultimate role model /aim for maturity. Childishness would be the exact opposite. (knowledge is for books, not character)
Had 2 tshirts for my prezzie. One is from Famous Stars & Straps. The brand is the backdrop of this current blog skin. And now u noe.. Thx to Jelly Jeremy! There's no other Tshirt i want more than one from FamousS&S. Thanks so much for ur thoughfulness. Another one from Jiahui & gang is a simple nice white one with a simple design on it. The size fits and i would love to wear that for coffee chillout session.
Appreciates my cg members as u make this old boi bdae a little more special! If i were an 'average joe' i wouldnt have a bdae song sung to me nor nice cards to my name; As i never celebrate bdaes in my earlier years. But u pple make me felt a forehead above the rest on this wonderful day the Lord has made. Wahahaha.
A year ago i received a walking stick at sentosa for my 24th bdae. from the same gang. Haha.. I thought will receive wheelchair this year.
Some trivia - On my 25th bdae, The first familiar face i see for the day was also the last for that day!
