Wow! 22/02/07 I marked this date as one of the best days of 2007. What a good start! what a good motivation for the year! Mayb one of the best days of my life in recent. Had 2 significant achievement in a day! Yippee!~!
For the 1st, i passed my class 3 driving test! Woohoo! it was my first attempt. I was soo nervous i didnt expect to pass. I do hope to pass but i didnt have much expectation. the tester was kind. If u were in my shoe, u know it was by pure grace. the tester was graceful. the road condition was peaceful. the weather is good. God bless the tester! I did wat i did (and failed) but God help me in the other areas which i got no control.
I was soo nervous sitting in the car. my left leg starts to shake. i stare at my leg but it didnt help. my leg juz vibrate without any control. In my heart i was thinking, "oh my goodness! i didnt expect things like this." And i made mistakes that i didnt make thruout my 20 odd practices. I was on the slope wanting to move off when my gear was not engage and i rav the accelerator a few times and thought wat had gone wrong.
Another fatal mistake almost got me to fail; i was doing the pararell parking when my wheel struck the kerb side. So the tester wind down the window and showed me my mistake. i acknowledge it. Than i cont to park the car to the middle of the slot. but i couldnt estimate my position. So the tester in a loud tone ask me if im sure i had park the car correctly. Than in my nervousness i answered back at him saying, "this is not centre meh?!" He look at me awhile. i tried to manoveure a lil more than he said ok. proceed to the next station. Since then i am half hearted inside. thinking my chances of passing is very slim. So i was quiet in the car being as polite as i can as we proceed out of the road.
As i end my test, the tester said to me sternly. "ur parking is not good. u need to improve." my head knod in discouragement. Than he continued. " im giving u a chance. i let you pass ur test. proceed to watch the video." i got stun in happiness. like i couldnt believe wat i hear. wanting him to repeat wat he said. As i step out of the car, a sch instructor greeted me with a smile, "congratulations!" i look at him blankly for a few seconds than i smile back n said, "thank you!" i continue to follow my tester. halfway thru the tester turn around and said to me, "you dun have to follow me. go to the room to watch the video." I knod my head in my blurrness. and walk over to the video room. occasionally smiling to myself. i look at my result slip juz to confirm again. I went to the canteen to get a drink to cool myself down. as i was on the phone, my collegue called me to ask and i blurted out my happiness to him.
i got a total of 18 points. which is also the passing mark. any more points and i would need to re-test. if i fail to do juz one more safety check or steer abruptly i would fail the test. Its that fragile. This only reminds me of one thing. to testify of God's common grace in this situation. help me attain the license. it shows that my skill is not too superb to pass it but also everything was set up well.
Jesus, i will be early for church this weekend.. =P
Well, the 2nd incident so to speak that made my day is a lil more personal. mayb i could share it in days to come.
